Once we fully understand the project, we resource it with our most experienced professional management team to ensure that the project is executed with the minimum of fuss and to your satisfaction.

We are agile, which means we have extensive experience in both public and private projects ranging from commercial, residential, heath care, hospitality, education, leisure, conservation and restoration.  We have a particular in-house expertise in design and build projects taking the project from design conception to completion. Early contractor engagement can bring significant saving on both time and cost to projects, along with using our expertise to help deliver the clients vision.

Our continual investment in technology ensures that you benefit from the efficiencies gained by us and that you have access to important innovations such as Building Information Modelling and Off-site construction.

We are fully aware that Safety is paramount to not just our clients, but to all our staff and workers on site. We operate out safety systems on site to the highest standards within the industry. We are also very proud of the fact that we are SafeT Grade A certified for 9 consecutive years. This excellent safety standards gives considerable comfort to our clients that we operate our safety management system to one of the highest standards that can be achieved in the industry.

This €10m rapid design & build project commenced on the
30th March and was completed on the 3rd July following a
14-week duration.

The initial stages of the project consisted of the demolition
of existing HSE office accommodation plus diversions of

Bloomfield is a large multi-phase development of 154 units over 16 acres. The site was developed by our sister company, Clancy Homes and built by Clancy. The development began in 2016 and the last houses are scheduled for completion in Dec 2020.

We are a construction company with a passion for partnership and collaboration.

We have an extensive portfolio of projects with our most recent projects for the HSE an example of where we used our experience and our own design and build model to construct two 24 bed isolation wards in a 14 week period to assist with the Countries fight against Covid 19.

Health & Safety

As an organisation Clancy hold annual appraisals with all their staff. The appraisal will have set out key performance indicators (KPIs) for each individual which will differ depending on the type of work that person is carrying out. The KPIs are based on Clancy overall strategy and issues that employees need to focus on as follows;

Safety is Clancy number one priority. Through their safety department they carry out both in house training and external training to ensure all their direct staff has the required training in keeping with their statutory obligations under health and safety legislation and indeed their own training needs to ensure they develop the skills sets of all staff both professional, trades people and general operatives.

Meet Our Dedicated Team

Clancy Construction is managed and led by a number of key individuals who share a vast amount of knowledge and expertise. They have a deep passion for quality in construction, ensuring their clients receive the best possible service at a competitive price. They manage a construction team of over 100 staff as well as project manage a wide range of active, and sometimes complex, projects on a daily basis.

Managing Director

John O’Shaughnessy

MBA, LL.B (Hons) DIPSM, FCIOB,
PMP, ACIARB

John joined Clancy Construction in 1992 and has over 30 years’ experience working in Ireland’s construction industry. Throughout his career he has worked on a variety of project disciplines including Education, Healthcare, Hotels, Leisure, Residential, Restoration and Conservation projects.

John has held positions such as Site Technician, Site Manager and Contracts Manager. In 2003 John was appointed Contracts Director, Deputy Managing Director in 2007, Managing Director in 2013 John is currently the chairman of the South East branch of CIF since 2017, Chairman of Technical Committee of the Construction Industry Council of Ireland, Chairman of the Education and training committee of the CIF and a board member of the Construction Industry Register of Ireland (CIRI) along with being a member of the National Executive of the CIF.

Declan Fitzpatrick

MBA, BEng, BSc, MIEI, MCIOB

Declan joined Clancy in 2007 as a Contracts Manager and was appointed to the board of Directors as Construction & EHSQ Director in 2013. Declan has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years, starting his career working on large civil engineering projects, and following this, worked on numerous projects within the education, retail, commercial, residential and health care sectors.  

 

Declan is a Chartered Construction Manager with qualifications in both Civil Engineering and Construction Management, and holds an MBA from the University of Limerick.

Chris Chambers

MCIOB, B.A.I Civil Engineering,
B.A Mathematics

Chris has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, having received qualifications in both Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering from Trinity College. Chris started his career working on large residential projects and following this, he has strong experience in projects within the commercial, residential, health care, cleanroom and education sectors.

Chris joined Clancy Construction in 2008 as a Contracts Manager and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2013 as Construction Director.

Financial Director

John Corcoran

B COMM, DPA, FCA

John joined Clancy Construction as Chief Financial Officer in 2007 and was appointed to the Board of Directors as Finance Director in 2013. He is responsible for the management of the entire finance function including accounting, treasury, financial planning, budgeting and financial reporting. He worked previously as an Audit Partner with Oliver Freaney and Company specialising in managing and advising clients in the construction, retail, manufacturing and property sectors. 

Executive Commercial Director

Alan Darmody

BSC (Construction Economics), MSCSI, MRICS

Alan joined Clancy in 2008 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, in more recent years Alan has held the positions of Managing Quantity Surveyor and Associate Director before being appointed to the Board of Directors in January 2021 as Executive Commercial Director where he has responsibility for the Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Purchasing and Business Development portfolios.

Alan has over 20 years experience in the Irish construction industry having worked across a multitude of sectors including Healthcare, Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, Pharmaceutical, Education and Restoration.

Alan received his degree from Cork Institute of Technology before gaining membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2013.
