At Clancy Construction, International Women’s Day is more than just a calendar date – it’s a celebration of progress, empowerment, and the extraordinary women helping to shape the future of our industry. This year, we were proud to mark International Women’s Day 2025 by supporting and spotlighting the remarkable contributions of our female colleagues.
An Inspiring Day at the CIF International Women’s Day Summit
To honour the occasion, several members of our team attended the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) International Women’s Day Summit, held at the picturesque Johnstown Estate. The summit brought together women from across the sector to share insights, exchange ideas, and be inspired by some of the most forward-thinking voices in Irish construction.
Among the highlights were keynote speeches from Susan McGarry, whose leadership and advocacy continue to inspire, as well as several engaging panel discussions that addressed challenges and opportunities facing women in construction today. These thought-provoking conversations reaffirmed the importance of visibility, mentorship, and structural support in fostering a more inclusive industry.
The event not only celebrated women’s achievements but also explored the evolving role of women in shaping the built environment emphasising how gender balance and diverse leadership are key to the future success of construction in Ireland.

Fostering Camaraderie and Reflection at Moyvalley
To make the most of the occasion, our team enjoyed an overnight stay at the beautiful Moyvalley Hotel & Golf Resort on the eve of the summit. This relaxing retreat provided the perfect setting for bonding, reflection, and celebration – strengthening the sense of community and support that underpins our approach at Clancy Construction.
The tranquil surroundings and meaningful conversations that took place throughout the evening made the experience all the more memorable. It offered our team members a well-deserved moment to pause and appreciate the path they’re paving in a historically male-dominated field.
Our Commitment to Women in Construction
At Clancy Construction, we are deeply committed to championing gender equality and ensuring that all team members regardless of gender – have the opportunity to thrive, lead, and make an impact. We believe that true progress in construction cannot happen without the full participation of women across all levels of our organisation and the wider industry.
We continue to advocate for more inclusive hiring practices, mentorship opportunities, and a culture where diversity is not only valued but celebrated. Days like International Women’s Day serve as a powerful reminder of the work we’ve done – and the work still ahead to break barriers and foster meaningful change.
Looking Ahead
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Construction Industry Federation for hosting such an impactful event and to all the speakers and participants who continue to challenge the status quo and inspire the next generation.
Here’s to our incredible women at Clancy Construction and to building a future where everyone has the tools, encouragement, and opportunity to succeed.
