At Clancy Construction, we take immense pride in supporting youth, sport, and community. That’s why we’re thrilled to congratulate Thurles CBS on their historic Croke Cup victory on St. Patrick’s Day, marking their second-ever win in this prestigious All-Ireland Post Primary Schools hurling championship.

This wasn’t just a win – it was a performance for the ages.

A Comeback for the History Books

In the ultimate test of grit and resilience, Thurles CBS found themselves trailing by eight points with just 20 minutes remaining in the Croke Cup final. What followed was a breathtaking display of determination, teamwork, and raw spirit that saw them claw their way back into contention and ultimately lift the cup. The closing quarter was a masterclass in composure and belief, with every player leaving their heart on the field.

This comeback victory captured the imagination of schools’ GAA fans across the country – and rightly so. It wasn’t just about hurling skills; it was about leadership, unity, and the indomitable will to never give up.

Building on Harty Cup Glory

Earlier in the season, Thurles CBS had already stamped their authority on Munster hurling by claiming the Dr. Harty Cup – their 9th in school history. That campaign saw them emerge from a highly competitive field, displaying consistency and class throughout. The Harty Cup win laid the foundation for their All-Ireland journey, giving them the momentum and confidence needed to take on the nation’s best.

It’s rare to see a team sweep both the Munster and All-Ireland titles in the same season – a testament to the exceptional work of the coaching staff, school leadership, and of course, the players themselves.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

At Clancy Construction, we see clear parallels between what we value as a business and what Thurles CBS exemplifies on the field: resilience, teamwork, integrity, and pride in performance. Supporting Thurles CBS is more than just sponsorship – it’s about investing in the future of our youth and recognising excellence where it truly matters.

We are especially proud to support a school that not only produces top-class athletes but also shapes young people into leaders, collaborators, and role models for their peers.

To the Champions – Thank You

To the players, coaches, support staff, school administration, and the passionate supporters – we salute you. You’ve made history. You’ve inspired a community. You’ve shown what it means to fight for something bigger than yourself.
