Clancy Construction was proud to celebrate a standout evening at the 2025 Tipperary Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, where the company received two of the most prestigious honours of the night. The awards, held in Thurles, recognised both individual leadership and the enduring legacy of a family business rooted in Tipperary and operating at a national level.
Special Recognition for Managing Director John O’Shaughnessy
We are delighted to congratulate our Managing Director, John O’Shaughnessy, on receiving a very special award in recognition of his long serving commitment to local and national business.
John has played a significant role in supporting and shaping economic and community development across Thurles and the wider Tipperary region for many years. His contribution extends well beyond Clancy Construction, through his involvement with numerous committees and initiatives at both local and national level.

John is a former President of the MBCA and currently sits on the National Executive of the Construction Industry Federation, CIF. In recognition of his leadership and commitment to the sector, John is also set to take on the role of President of the CIF in the coming years.
The prestigious nature of this award was reflected in the presence of An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, who attended the event specifically to present the honour to John. It was a proud family occasion, with John joined on the night by his wife Connie, daughters Stephanie and Nicole, son Evan, and daughter in law Shona.
This recognition is a testament not only to John’s professional achievements, but also to the values of leadership, community service, and dedication that he has consistently brought to every role he has undertaken.

Clancy Construction Named Best Family Business
In addition to John’s personal success, Clancy Construction was deeply honoured to receive the Best Family Business Award, one of the main prizes presented on the night.
The award was accepted on behalf of the company by Billy Clancy and his wife Marie, and reflects the high regard in which Clancy Construction is held as a leading family run contractor based in Tipperary, with impact felt far beyond the county.
This recognition celebrates a proud legacy spanning three generations of the Clancy family, whose commitment, vision, and hard work have shaped the business into what it is today. We acknowledge the founder of the company, John Clancy, and his sons Billy, Gerry, and Pat, along with the wider Clancy family, for the foundations they have built and continue to strengthen.

A Shared Achievement Across the Entire Team
While these awards highlight leadership and legacy, they also belong to the broader Clancy Construction family. We are proud of our strong management team and grateful to our talented employees across every part of the business. Their skill, determination, and pride in representing Clancy Construction every day are what make achievements like these possible.
This double success is a reflection of the standards our people set, the trust our clients place in us, and the values that guide our work across every project.

These awards mark an important moment for Clancy Construction as a Tipperary based contractor with a long standing reputation built on integrity, quality, and community commitment. We are proud that both our Managing Director’s contribution and our family business heritage have been recognised in such a meaningful way.
We extend our sincere thanks to Tipperary Chamber of Commerce for the honours, and to everyone who continues to support Clancy Construction, from our clients and partners to every member of our team.
