Clancy Supports CIF International Women’s Day, Celebrating Women in Construction

Clancy is proud to recognise and celebrate the growing impact of women across the construction industry, an impact that is shaping not only projects, but the future of the sector itself.

As part of this commitment, members of the Clancy team recently attended the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) International Women’s Day event, joining peers from across Ireland to recognise the achievements, leadership and contribution of women in construction. The event provided a valuable platform for open discussion, shared experiences and forward looking conversations on how the industry can continue to evolve and become more inclusive.

Ahead of the event, our team gathered at the Johnstown Estate, creating an opportunity to connect, reflect and align on the importance of representation and support within the industry. These moments of collaboration are central to building a culture that not only welcomes diversity, but actively fosters it.

As a Diamond Sponsor, Clancy was proud to support an initiative that highlights the breadth of roles women hold across construction from site based positions to leadership and technical expertise and encourages the next generation to consider careers in the sector. Supporting events like this forms part of a broader commitment to ensuring construction remains a dynamic and accessible career path for all.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of Grace Gill, Assistant Site Manager at Clancy, who contributed to Panel 3: “A Day in My Boots – Apprentice Graduate Panel.” Through her insights, Grace brought authenticity and visibility to the real world experiences of emerging professionals, offering practical perspectives on career development, challenges and opportunities within the industry.

This focus on development and visibility is reflected across Clancy, including in the progression of early career professionals such as Eimear Darcy, Junior Site Engineer, who was recently featured in the CIF graduate story series in the lead up to International Women’s Day. Based on the Fox Meadow Development in Kilkenny, Eimear plays an integral role in site coordination, quality assurance and daily operations. Her journey from an initial work experience placement to a full-time engineering role demonstrates the strength of Clancy’s development pathways and highlights the importance of early exposure, structured mentorship and hands on responsibility in building confidence and capability on site.

In her feature, Eimear shares insight into her day-to-day responsibilities and offers #GiveToGain advice to those considering a career in construction, reinforcing the message that the industry is open, rewarding and full of opportunity for those willing to engage and grow.

Clancy was also proud to see Rita O’Neill, Healthcare Construction Project Manager, recognised as a special feature in the CIF magazine, highlighting her contribution to the industry and the leadership she brings to complex healthcare projects.

Together, these stories reflect a wider shift within construction one where talent, diversity and inclusion are central to delivering better outcomes across projects and communities. From early career professionals to experienced leaders, Clancy remains committed to supporting this progress by investing in people, promoting visibility and continuing to create meaningful pathways for future generations of women in construction.
