This development consisted of a New Build Construction of approximately 525m2 in a 3 storey development on Chairman’s Arch and the refurbishment of 2 listed buildings at Nr. 8 Chairman’s Arch and 1 and 2 Cathedral Square. The works also included the basic fitting out of the ground floor of No’s 1 and 2 for commercial use. The City Council also acquired additional properties at 3, 4, & 5 Cathedral Square and the works also included some upgrading of these houses, all of which are protected structures.
The entire Viking Triangle Area underwent a planned programme of renewal including co-ordinated hard landscaping proposals. The proposed housing development works required co-ordination and interfacing with these works.
Other works include Archaeological Assessment test Pits, Cathedral Square – Rear Wall Stabilisation, Over site Archaeological Dig and Reduced Level Excavation Works.
