Clancy would like to congratulate all staff members who competed in the Grant Thornton Corporate Challenge at the Mall, Cork last week. This was the concluding run of our Wellness Programme and it couldn’t have been finished better. With twelve of the sixteen runners getting new Personal Bests last Wednesday Evening, it proved what a success the programme was. The four teams ran extremely well and Team 1 came in as the fourth fastest team Overall! Well done to Aidan Maher, Donnacha Lonergan, Joe Bracken and our MD John O’Shaughnessy on achieving the great result.

Our runners are still mad for action so work is underway to have teams for the Grant Thornton Corporate Challenge in Dublin this coming September. There may also be a Half Marathon that some of our runners want to tackle.

From the success of both the Wellness Programme and the Corporate Challenge, we hope that the staff who took part will continue their training and keep up the momentum. The aim of the programme was to encourage running amongst Clancy employees, helping to improve the health & wellness of staff members and at the same time building a stronger team spirit. Running is a great stress reliever and is great for both your mental and physical health so we hope that the Wellness Programme was a start of regular exercise for staff.

“Those that fail in life don’t do so because they don’t have the brains, ability or courage, they do so because, they don’t set their energies around goals”
